Sewer

Since 1959, when ECU assumed control of the sanitary sewer system from the City, ECU has continued to protect the environment and overall public health while providing the treatment facilities and infrastructure necessary to support the economic growth of our growing community. Despite ever more stringent regulations, ECU continues to meet all limits set by SCDHEC.

Sewer System
  • System collects and treats wastewater from City of Easley and community of Arial
  • 18 lift stations, 187 gravity sewer line miles, 11 force main miles
  • System consists of three wastewater treatment plants with present capacity of 5.15 MGD
    • Middle Branch - Existing Capacity: 3.75 MGD
    • Georges Creek - Existing Capacity: 820,000 GD
    • Golden Creek - Existing Capacity: 580,000 GD
  • Service area of approximately 16.1 square miles
Customer Base
  • Approximately 9,600 customers
    • 90% residential / 10% commercial
    • 90% are within the city limits of Easley
    • Revenues for fiscal year 2006 of $3.2 million
  • Average bill for an inside city resident based on 1000 cf is $31.44
Sewer Service Tap Fees
  • 4" Sewer Connection Tap, 5/8" water
    • Inside City - $ 1,200
    • Outside City - $ 1,750
  • 6" Sewer Connection Tap, 5/8" water
    • Inside City - Cost + $900
    • Outside City - Cost + $900
  • An additional charge of $350 for connection to manhole may be imposed if required on 6-inch and 8-inch connections.
